An SR 79 lane closure will restrict traffic between mileposts 147 and 148 from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 9, as crews continue work on the SR 79 Passing Lane Project between mileposts 140 and 148, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.
What to expect during the SR 79 lane closure
- Traffic in both directions will share one open lane, with flaggers letting each side take turns passing through.
- Motorists could wait at a full stop for as long as 10 minutes.
- A reduced speed limit of 25 mph applies while flagging is underway.
ADOT urges motorists to stay alert, ease off the throttle and merge carefully when nearing the SR 79 lane restriction or any other work zone.
