The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists to prepare for lane restrictions and delays on north- and southbound State Route 79 between milepost 140 and milepost 148 in Pinal County while crews begin work on SR 79 Passing Lane Project. Construction will take place daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and from 6 a.m. to noon on Fridays, through summer 2027.

The speed limit to be reduced to 55 mph within the project area during work hours. Drivers on SR 79 may experience shoulder closures, lane closures, flagging operations, and/or traffic restrictions at different times throughout the project. ADOT will provide advance notice of specific restrictions and closures to email subscribers and on the project traffic alert web page.

The schedule is subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances. Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
