Police Nab Two Suspects in Apache Junction Drive-By Shooting

APACHE JUNCTION, AZ. — Two young men have been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred at 975 S. Royal Palm last Monday, November 11, the Apache Junction Police Department announced.

The suspects, an 18-year-old Mesa resident and a 19-year-old Apache Junction resident, were apprehended within four days of the incident. No injuries or property damage were reported in the shooting, which police say was a targeted incident.

Using advanced technology and witness statements, investigators were able to locate both the vehicle and suspects matching descriptions from the scene. Police also recovered a firearm linked to the case.

The Mesa resident faces charges of drive-by shooting, misconduct involving weapons, disorderly conduct with a weapon, and discharging a weapon in city limits. His alleged accomplice from Apache Junction has been charged with conspiracy to commit drive-by shooting, disorderly conduct with a weapon, and discharging a weapon in city limits.

The suspects’ names cannot be released until formal charges are filed by the Pinal County Attorney’s Office.

The arrests resulted from collaboration between Apache Junction Police Department investigators, patrol officers, and the Mesa Police Department.
