CASA GRANDE — A 10-year-old girl was shot in the shoulder Monday evening in what police believe is tied to a Casa Grande shooting, and investigators have released video of four people they want to identify.
Casa Grande Police Department officers responded near Casa Grande Avenue and McMurray Boulevard at about 6:59 p.m. Sept. 14 and found a crime scene along Casa Grande Avenue, in front of the district office of the Casa Grande Union High School District. They then combed the area for anyone involved in the shooting, along with witnesses and evidence.
Child treated and released
A short time later, officers were called to a convenience store nearby, where the girl had been reported wounded. Her injury was not life-threatening, and she was released after treatment at Banner Casa Grande Medical Center.
Casa Grande shooting video released
Investigators gathered footage from several sources and are making two short clips public. Police say the four people in them may know something about the shooting and consider all of them persons of interest.
The case remains open, with detectives still reviewing video, physical evidence and information from witnesses to piece together the circumstances of the shooting.
How to help
Police ask anyone who recognizes the people in the videos, or who has credible information about the Casa Grande shooting, to reach Detective Tyler Miller at (520) 840-2824 or [email protected].
