Operation Safe Streets Yields 23 Arrests, Firearms, and Explosives Seized

Casa Grande, AZ – June 3, 2025 — On the evenings of May 30 and 31, 2025, the Casa Grande Police Department conducted Operation Safe Streets, a 14-hour targeted enforcement detail focused on high-crime areas within the city. The initiative involved members of the Community Response Team, K9 Unit, Traffic Division, and Criminal Investigations Division (Drone Unit).

Operation Results:

  • Traffic Stops: 96
  • Civil Citations: 13
  • Total Arrests: 23
  • DUI Arrests: 6 (including aggravated and extreme DUI)
  • Felony Offenses: Narcotics violations, weapons offenses, prohibited possession, unlawful firearm discharge, and outstanding warrants
  • Firearms Recovered: 3
  • Stolen Vehicles Recovered: 1

Notable Incidents:

  • Vehicle Theft Arrests: A stolen Kia sedan was located at Center Park Apartments. Drone surveillance and a perimeter led to the arrest of two suspects tied to ongoing Kia/Hyundai theft investigations.
  • Firearm Discharge: Officers detained a suspect at the Quality Inn Motel after he fired a round and attempted to hide. A discarded firearm was recovered, and the suspect’s criminal history includes weapons and smuggling offenses.
  • Explosives Seized: A K9-initiated traffic stop resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine, three firearms, and suspected explosive devices. The AZDPS Bomb Squad responded and secured the materials for further analysis. Charges are pending.
