On Monday, February 16, 2026, at approximately 1:55 a.m., officers with the Casa Grande Police Department responded to a report of a shooting outside the Wonder Bar, located at 310 West 2nd Street.

Upon arrival, officers observed a silver Dodge Ram leaving the area with information initially indicating the shooter may be inside the vehicle. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of North Pinal Avenue and quickly determined the vehicle was not involved in the shooting. Instead, it was the victim vehicle.

A 17-year-old male occupant was found to have sustained a gunshot wound to his foot. He was transported by ambulance to Banner Casa Grande Medical Center for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.

During the investigation, officers reviewed footage from a nearby Safe City camera, part of the City’s Safe City Initiative in partnership with Flock Safety. Video captured the suspect retrieving a firearm from a vehicle and firing multiple rounds into the air before leaving the scene in a Dodge Caravan.

Using Flock technology, officers were able to quickly identify and share the suspect vehicle information with surrounding law enforcement agencies through the regional network. Shortly thereafter, the Gila River Police Department located the vehicle in the Laveen area and contacted the driver, who was taken into custody and processed for DUI. The vehicle was seized and transported to Casa Grande for further forensic examination.

This case highlights the critical role the Safe City Initiative plays in enhancing public safety. The strategic placement of Safe City cameras and the ability to share information in real time with partner agencies allows investigators to rapidly identify leads, locate suspect vehicles, and support swift enforcement actions.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Additional charges related to the shooting are being evaluated.
