The Casa Grande Police Department recently completed a highly focused two-day suppression detail aimed at reducing dangerous driving behaviors and disrupting criminal activity occurring on our roadways. This coordinated enforcement effort targeted impaired, distracted, aggressive, and speeding drivers—behaviors that continue to place our community at significant risk.

This detail included members of our Traffic Enforcement Unit, K9 Unit, Community Response Team, and Narcotics Unit, who worked tirelessly across both days to identify offenders, remove dangerous individuals from our streets, and enhance overall public safety.

Over the course of the operation, officers conducted 230 traffic stops and made 27 arrests, many of which resulted in suspects being booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center. Arrested individuals face charges including: Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Possession of Dangerous Drugs for Sale, Transportation of Dangerous Drugs for Sale.

In total, officers seized 51 grams of methamphetamine, and 13 ounces of fentanyl powder, with a combined estimated street value of approximately $70,000.

To put this into perspective, fentanyl continues to be one of the deadliest synthetic opioids facing communities nationwide. The amount recovered during this detail represents thousands of potentially lethal doses—each one now removed from the streets of Casa Grande.

Additional enforcement efforts included:

  • 1 arrest for an outstanding felony warrant out of Wisconsin
  • 4 arrests for DUI, preventing impaired drivers from further endangering the public
  • 54 civil and criminal traffic citations issued for dangerous driving violations

“These officers put in a tremendous amount of work,” said Chief of Police Mark McCrory. “This was one of the most successful suppression details we have conducted. The results speak for themselves, and our community is safer today because of their dedication.”

The Casa Grande Police Department remains committed to proactive enforcement, strong community partnerships, and ongoing efforts to curb impaired driving, drug trafficking, and violent crime in our city. We thank our officers for their outstanding work and our community for its continued support.
