Apache Junction’s dog parks remain closed following recent storms and flash flooding that brought significant rainfall in a short period of time. The facilities sustained damage including waterlogged basins, muddy sediment buildup, and heavy erosion affecting fencing and surrounding grounds.

City maintenance staff and contractors are working to complete repairs, though some tasks cannot be finished until the areas fully dry out.

Dutchman Dog Park will remain closed through Friday, October 24, with the current maintenance closure being extended.

Painted Sky Ruff Ranch has sustained more extensive damage and will be closed at least through Friday, November 7.

Officials say the parks may reopen sooner if conditions allow, noting that the safety of dogs and the long-term health of the grass and facilities are top priorities.
