The Casa Grande City Council unanimously approved a $4.05 million Thornton Road widening project from Main Street to Cottonwood Lane, adding a second through lane in each direction plus 4-foot shoulders. The project receives 94.3% federal funding through Highway Infrastructure Programs, with the city contributing $259,390 in local match and administration fees.
