San Tan Valley has taken the first step toward joining the National Flood Insurance Program. Once accepted, residents will be able to purchase flood coverage through private agents at federally subsidized rates.

Apache Junction has acquired 76.5 acres of State Trust land for the Weekes Wash Regional Multi-Use Detention Facility, a major flood control project protecting over 4,000 properties. Funded in part by the largest FEMA grant ever awarded in Arizona, the project aims to reduce flood risk, lower insurance costs, and enhance long-term community resilience.
