SAN TAN VALLEY, AZ — A Pecan Creek house fire erupted around 1 a.m. on March 22, sending smoke and flames through both floors of the home. Rural Metro Fire crews arrived to find heavy fire conditions throughout the structure. All occupants had evacuated, and no injuries were reported.
Investigators believe the blaze started in the garage. Oil-soaked rags are considered a possible cause.
Rural Metro Fire used the incident as an opportunity to remind residents that working smoke alarms save lives.
