Yesterday, Feb. 3, around 4 p.m., PCSO patrol deputies responded to assist the Mammoth Police Department after reports that a man had smashed a window on a school bus carrying children. One child sustained minor injuries.
Deputies learned the suspect fled to a nearby house and later spotted him at the front door. The suspect then displayed two edged weapons toward deputies.
A perimeter was established, and PCSO SWAT responded to the scene. Hostage negotiators successfully convinced the suspect to exit the house, and he was safely taken into custody.
The 35-year-old man from San Manuel was booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center by Mammoth Police Department on charges of Endangerment, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon/Dangerous Instrument, and Criminal Damage/Deface.
