Casa Grande, AZ – A residential fire early this morning on Ash Avenue resulted in the total destruction of a home, according to Casa Grande Fire Department (CGFD) officials. Fire crews, including support from the Eloy Fire District, responded to the scene within three minutes of the initial call.
Firefighters launched an aggressive exterior attack on the blaze, which took approximately 45 minutes to bring under control. Despite the intensity of the fire, crews successfully prevented major damage to neighboring properties.
“The fire crew did an excellent job confining the fire to the house of origin,” said Fire Chief Kean. “Both neighboring homes were spared significant damage. The house to the east had minor exterior damage, and the house to the west also sustained minimal damage.”
Based on interviews with the occupant, CGFD investigators indicated that an unattended candle in the living room may have been the source of the fire.
In light of the incident, CGFD has issued a reminder to residents about holiday season safety. The department emphasizes the importance of treating candles with caution, extinguishing them when leaving rooms or going to sleep. Officials also stress the necessity of maintaining working smoke alarms and supervising all cooking activities.
