Enforcement Results Show Speeding as Primary Concern

Why Speed Enforcement Matters
Statewide data underscores the importance of speed enforcement. In 2024, speed was the leading behavioral factor in Arizona traffic deaths.
| Factor | Fatalities | % of Total |
|---|---|---|
| Speed | 417 | 33.9% |
| Alcohol | 347 | 28.3% |
| No Seatbelt/Helmet | 340 | 27.7% |
Together, these three behavioral factors drive the majority of preventable traffic fatalities in Arizona.
The I-10 corridor near Casa Grande carries significant traffic. ADOT describes this stretch as a major commuter route and freight thoroughfare between Phoenix and Tucson. It is one of the busiest highway sections in Arizona.
The detail’s focus on speeding aligns with statewide data showing speed as the leading factor in traffic fatalities.
