Apache Junction Artist Roster Now Accepting Applications

Image

The City of Apache Junction is now accepting qualifications for its Pre-Qualified Artist Roster. This three-year roster will guide the selection of artists for public art projects citywide. Arizona artists who are 18 or older may apply through January 15, 2026.

Public Art Opportunities Available

Selected artists may receive contracts for various projects. These include permanent artworks, temporary installations, and murals. Additionally, opportunities may involve functional design elements and community engagement projects. Budgets will vary by project, and the city will issue individual contracts as opportunities arise.

Apache Junction’s Growing Public Art Program

The city has actively expanded its public art initiatives in recent months. Recently, Apache Junction High School 11th-grader Sheyla Sebastian Marcos won a Traffic Cabinet Public Art Contest. The vibrant design now appears on a traffic cabinet at the northeast corner of Ironwood Drive and Southern Avenue.

That contest was organized by the Apache Junction Public Arts Commission in collaboration with the Youth Advisory Council and Apache Junction High School. The new Pre-Qualified Artist Roster will further expand these opportunities for professional Arizona artists.

Artists must submit their qualifications through CaFE (Call for Entry). The online portal requires several materials.
