Padilla Park

Padilla Park, located in the historic heart of Florence, Arizona, sits on what was once the site of the iconic Silver King Hotel (later renamed the Florence Hotel) dating back to 1876. The 1.2-acre park occupies Blocks 78 and 79 of the Original Florence Townsite and is bounded by Ruggles Street to the north, Sixth Street to the south, Main Street to the east, and Quartz Street to the west. The park serves as both a recreational space and entertainment venue, featuring a performance stage and splash pad. Adjacent to the park stands the preserved two-story brick Silver King Plaza building, a testament to Florence’s rich history. The site holds significant archaeological value, with numerous historic features preserved beneath its surface, telling the story of Florence’s development from the 1870s through the early 20th century. The park’s location within the Florence Historic Town Site, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, makes it a culturally significant gathering space that bridges the community’s past and present.
