Pinal County Constable Glenn Morrison announced his resignation as constable of Western Pinal Justice Precinct 4. The resignation went into effect September 31, 2024.

Western Pinal Justice Precinct 4
Constables in Arizona play a crucial role in the local justice system. Their primary duties include executing court orders, serving legal documents, and attending justice of the peace courts within their designated precincts. Constables have the authority to serve and return various legal processes, warrants, and notices as directed by justices of the peace or other competent authorities.
This resignation has triggered the process to fill the vacancy for the remainder of Constable Morrison’s term, which runs until the 2026 General Election.
According to Arizona Revised Statute 16-230(A)(2), the Pinal County Board of Supervisors is responsible for appointing a replacement constable. The statute requires that the appointee be of the same political party as the person vacating the office. As Constable Morrison was elected as a Republican in the 2022 General Election, the Board is only accepting applications from registered Republicans for this position.
The county has outlined specific eligibility criteria for potential candidates:
- Must be a legal Arizona resident living within Precinct 4, Western Pinal Justice Precinct
- Must be registered to vote
- Must be able to read and write the English language
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be a registered Republican
Interested individuals are required to submit letters of interest, résumés, and other documents outlining their qualifications for the office by 5:00 PM on Thursday, October 17, 2024. Applicants must also provide the required authorization for a background check and fingerprinting.
The Pinal County Board of Supervisors will review the applications and appoint a new constable to serve until the next regular general election.
