The City of Maricopa is taking another step forward in its growth with the approval of a new phase of Anderson Farms. The city’s Planning and Zoning Commission gave a unanimous green light to Phase 3A of the project, adding another neighborhood to this expanding community.
The development is particularly significant because it’s part of a larger vision taking shape in Maricopa. Planning Manager Rick Williams explained that Anderson Farms has been growing steadily, with Phases 1A and 1B already built and Phase 2 recently modified to accommodate different housing options. The newly approved Phase 3A will be followed by Phase 4, with plans already in motion for a community park featuring a lake and swimming pool.
What makes this project especially notable is how the city is preparing for the new residents by expanding its road network. Commission Chair Bill Robertson highlighted the rapid progress being made on Hartman Road, which is being transformed from a basic road into a four-lane divided parkway. “To say that we’re not building roads to meet our growth is a stretch,” Robertson noted, pointing to how quickly the road construction is moving along.
The new neighborhood, being developed by Lennar Homes, will offer two different lot sizes and include multiple open space areas. Williams emphasized that the development has been designed to connect seamlessly with future phases, featuring walking paths that will eventually lead residents to the planned community park.
The commission’s approval allows Lennar to move forward with detailed planning, though final approvals will still be needed before construction can begin on this latest addition to one of Maricopa’s growing master-planned communities.
