Pinal County Enforces Parking Rules at Cloudview Trailhead

A new Pinal County parking ordinance is now in effect, and the Sheriff’s Office is warning hikers at Cloudview Trailhead in Gold Canyon. Vehicles parked illegally on nearby streets may be cited, fined, or towed.

The Cloudview Trailhead is located at 11231 East Cloudview Avenue. It operates daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.

According to officials, hikers have been parking on roadways when the lot fills up. This creates problems for emergency vehicles trying to access the area.

New Parking Ordinance Takes Effect

The Pinal County Board of Supervisors adopted Ordinance No. 070225-RD24-168 on July 2, 2025. It authorizes parking restrictions on county roads where vehicles create hazards.

Under the ordinance, parking prohibitions take effect once roads are posted with signs, striped, or marked accordingly. Restrictions may apply where parking would obstruct traffic lanes or create unsafe conditions.

Fines Are at Least $250 Per Violation

Violators face significant penalties under the new parking rules. Civil fines are at least $250 per vehicle, per occurrence, per day. Officers may also immobilize vehicles with a boot or barnacle.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office and Code Compliance Office will enforce these provisions.
