Eloy, AZ – On June 28th, The Eloy Police Department announced that it has partnered with the Arizona Department of Transportation and several law enforcement agencies throughout Arizona, to introduce you to the “BLUE ENVELOPE PROGRAM”.

The Blue Envelope Program is designed to enhance communication between law enforcement and individuals on the Autism Spectrum during traffic stops.

Participants obtain a blue envelope to store important documents like their license and registration, which can be presented during stops. The envelope provides instructions for both the driver and officer to help guide effective communication, reduce the stress of the encounter and ensure safety of all parties. The program promotes inclusivity and awareness, ensuring that officers are informed about the driver’s condition.

Participation in the Blue Envelope Program is voluntary and confidential. Neither MVD nor law enforcement will maintain records or a database of participants.

You can obtain a Blue Envelope at the Eloy Police Department, participating law enforcement agencies and all ADOT MVD offices in the State of Arizona.
