Eloy Commercial Vehicle Crash Caused by Unsecured Load

A commercial vehicle crash in Eloy sent a driver to the hospital on January 13, 2026. The incident occurred around 1 PM on southbound AZ-87 near milepost 116. According to authorities, speeding and an improperly secured load caused the collision.

The driver was traveling approximately 55 mph in a 45 mph zone before attempting to turn west onto Milligan Road. During the turn, metal beams shifted laterally and crushed the cab. Emergency responders airlifted him to a nearby hospital for minor injuries. He is expected to recover.

AZDPS troopers and Eloy Police responded to the scene. Authorities cited the driver for unreasonable speed under ARS 28-701. Additionally, he received a federal citation for an improperly secured load. In response, AZDPS reminded drivers to always double-check that hauled materials are properly secured.
