The City of Apache Junction will hold its Primary Election on August 4, 2026, to elect a mayor, serving a two-year term, as well as three councilmembers, each serving a four-year term. The terms set to expire in 2026 include Mayor Chip Wilson, Vice Mayor Robert Schroeder, and Councilmembers Darryl Cross and Bryan Soller.
Elected candidates will take office at the first regular meeting in January 2027.
Individuals interested in running for public office can download a candidate packet containing the forms and petitions required for candidacy at www.apachejunctionaz.gov/elections. Scheduling an appointment with the City Clerk is recommended but is not required.
Candidates must file a Statement of Interest prior to obtaining any petitions. In addition, all other completed forms must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office, located at 300 E. Superstition Blvd., 85119. Electronic submissions are not permitted. The filing period begins March 7, 2026, and concludes on April 6, 2026, at 5 p.m.
