Casa Grande, AZ – The City of Casa Grande is pleased to announce that the Trekell Road Improvement Project is nearing completion. This major infrastructure project, which began six months ago, was expedited to meet the beginning of the Casa Grande Union High School year, marking a significant milestone in the City’s ongoing efforts to enhance roadway safety and capacity.

The $5.8 million project focused on the stretch of Trekell Road between Rodeo Road and McCartney Road. Key improvements include the widening of Trekell Road from two to four lanes between Avenida Luna and McCartney Road, adding a median to control traffic access to the high school, as well as the addition of a two-way left turn lane at McCartney Road, helping to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow.

A small portion of the project remains on hold due to multiple delays in paperwork from a third-party natural gas provider. Despite the City’s best efforts to work with the company over the past nine months, the necessary approvals have yet to be finalized. Once the utility provider completes their portion, Ellison Mills Contracting will return to finish the work.

The City of Casa Grande thanks the community for its patience and cooperation throughout the duration of this important project.
