SUMMARY:City of Casa Grande Invites Public to Discuss Affordable Housing Needs
DESCRIPTION:News Source: City of Casa Grande \n\n\n\nThe Casa Grande City Council and the Planning and Development Department invite all residents to participate in an important community discussion about housing needs and the future of affordable housing in the city. This key meeting will take place on January 15 at 5:30 PM in the City Council Chambers\, located at 510 East Florence Boulevard.  \n\n\n\nThe City has initiated the Affordable Housing Plan to better understand current housing availability and explore ways to expand affordable housing options for eligible residents. To assist in this effort\, Casa Grande has engaged Elliott D. Pollack & Company\, a reputable local real estate and economic consulting firm\, to conduct a comprehensive study.  \n\n\n\nDuring the meeting\, attendees will:  \n\n\n\n\nLearn about the purpose of the Affordable Housing Plan. \n\n\n\nHear about the study’s schedule and key preparation steps. \n\n\n\nProvide valuable input on the housing market and share perspectives on the affordability of both for-sale and rental housing in Casa Grande.\n\n\n\n\n“This meeting is a critical first step in shaping the future of affordable housing in our community\,” said Mayor Lisa Fitzgibbons. “We encourage everyone to attend and share their thoughts as we work together to ensure Casa Grande remains an inclusive and vibrant place to live.”  \n\n\n\nYour input is essential to this process\, and the City values your involvement in helping to address this important issue. For questions or additional information\, please contact Mary Allen at (520) 421-8600 or by email.  \n\n\n\nThe PDF flyer for the event is here.

SUMMARY:EVBCH Fun Festival & Hee-Haw Hootenanny
DESCRIPTION:At the foot of the Superstition Mountains you’ll find excitement in the legends and lore of days gone by; drawn by the promise of gold\, prospectors would pass through town on their way to the hills\, either to stake their own claim\, or discover the fabled Lost Dutchman’s stash. It’s here you’ll find a historic event of another sort: the Apache Junction Burro Derby. Begun in the 1950’s\, this fun family event is a delight for participants and spectators alike. \n\n\n\nFor those individuals entered in the race\, you can expect a fast\, mostly flat course (there are a few small rolling hills) in a loop of 3-5 miles through the desert\, starting and ending at the Apache Junction Rodeo Grounds grandstand arena. The race will begin at 10am or shortly after. After the race is over you can enjoy all the fun of the HeeHaw Hootenanny\, which includes in hand trail obstacle classes and jackpacking with your donkey (or mule! The race is donkeys only\, but the hootenanny is for anything that hee haws!). The race is limited to handlers 14 years old and up\, but we will have youth divisions in the in-hand classes. There is no lower age limit to in hand\, but small children may need to participate with an adult helper. \n\n\n\nFor those folks without a long ear\, we have plenty of free\, family activities\, including a stick donkey rodeo\, best bray competition\, farm games\, live music\, vendors\, and the East Valley Back Country Horseman’s yearly gathering. All of these activities will be open and available from 9 am-4 pm. \n\n\n\nSign up for the race here: https://runsignup.com/…/BRAYApacheJunctionBurroDerby \n\n\n\nView PDF Flyer
